Who we are ?

QualiREG is a scientific and technical network of agri-food players in the Indian Ocean. Since 2010, QualiREG works in the improvement and enhancement of the quality of food in the region. The network has now over 50 partners in Reunion, Madagascar, Mauritius and Rodrigues, Comoros, Seychelles and Africa South.

With a wide variety of partners, the QualiREG network pursues several objectives with a view to improving food and nutritional security and economic development of the countries of the Indian Ocean. Its missions are the following :

1) To improve agri-food products;
2) To enhance biodiversity for health and well-being;
3) To advocate for food safety in the Indian Ocean;
4) To support the sectors through labeling and collective dynamics; and
5) To support businesses through the promotion of innovations.

Each year, the QualiREG network organizes the Agri-Food Meetings in the Indian Ocean, a unique opportunity for exchanges bewteen researchers, technicians and agri-food professionals on the issues of food quality and innovation and on the performance of the sectors. It also allows to take stock of on-going and future research projects, to promote various innovations and expertises present in the IO region, and to identify new collaborations.
